Dyson’s Ark
Dyson’s Ark is a post-apocalyptic universe in which Humanity, having destroyed the wild fauna, attempts to recreate animals in the form of cyborgs. These creatures, reanimated by artificial intelligence, end up turning against their creator. Each sculpture is a fragment of this ark: an ark that does not save Man, but preserves the memory of the living in another form.
My artistic gesture is a ritual: create, break, rebuild. I model in clay, I deliberately destroy, then I glue back together, leaving the cracks visible. These scars speak of resilience, but also of a creative power: like a god, I choose the life and death of my works. By destroying them and then resurrecting them, I make them immortal. They have passed through their own death and survived: it is my way of symbolically fighting against death and inscribing the visible trace of immortality.
Thus the cyborg animals of Dyson’s Ark are not merely futuristic visions. They embody a universal tension: between destruction and rebirth, fragility and power, memory and reinvention.
